About Us
The Sports With Alternatives To Steroids (S.W.A.T.S) Program is a unique and exclusive program that uses current and former professional, drug-free athletes – from every sport – as role models to teach youth athletes about character and staying free form illegal steroids, recreational drugs, nicotine, and alcohol.
The S.W.A.T.S Program‘s goals and objectives
- Illustrate the significance of being a competitive athlete abstaining from steroids, illegal drugs, alcohol, and nicotine (age appropriate).
- Provide athletes with healthy alternatives to sports performance enhancers.
Use accomplished current and former professional athletes as role models for younger athletes.
The drug-free current and former athletes, as well as any other athlete who wants to excel without the use of steroids or drugs, comprise a team of elite and exceptional athletes called The S.W.A.T.S Team.
All athletes who want to be part of The S.W.A.T.S Team will be required, as part of their initiation, to pass a drug test providing his or her abstinence from illegal steroid and recreational drugs. All athletes in the ninth (9th) grade and above must take, and pass, an annual drug test to remain a part of The S.W.A.T.S Team. For athletes not in High School – eight grade and younger – to be a part of The S.W.A.T.S Team, he or she must sign a S.W.A.T.S Agreement Contract committing to the following:
- No participation in the use of steroids, recreational drugs, or alcohol
- A voluntary drug test upon entering the ninth grade.
Using this concept, The S.W.A.T.S Program highlights character athletes who are achieving goals in his or her sport without cheating. These are the athletes worthy of praise and attention.
